Welcome to the AHVRA
The Australian Heavy Vehicle Repair Association was formed to address key industry issues which are unique to the heavy vehicle repair industry. The AHVRA works as a representative body in conjunction with the AAIA, member businesses, State automotive industry associations and other relevant groups.

Heavy Vehicle National Law Bill 2011
Document submission as a follow up to the original submission on the Draft Heavy Vehicle National Law and Draft Regulatory Impact Statement that was released by the Australian Transport Council (ATC) to consider a range of national transport initiatives.
The submission is to support a consistent approach to the application of a stringent assessment criteria for the classification of written-off heavy vehicles, of 4.5 tonnes or more, and trailers with regards to the following;
Chapter 2 Registration Part 2.1 (a), Part 2.2 Division 1 (1) and (2) (b) and (d),
Chapter 2 Part 2.1 (a) Eligibility for Registration
After much publicity it is disappointing to still receive reports of Heavy Vehicles being repaired in under EQUIPPED & NON COMPLIANT SHOPS.
There are many repairs undertaken on heavy vehicles by repairers with out the necessary SPECIALISED equipment, such as large CERTIFIED SPRAY BOOTHS & MACHINES to check chassis integrity & crack testing, also, spraying out in the open with the environmental hazards & structural damage going undetected is a common practice.
Choice of INSURER is as important as choice of REPAIRER!
To ensure value for your money, a list of insurers has been provided that AHVRA recognises as leaders in real value for money truck insurance products!
These insurers are based upon simple but effective criteria.
